Moot Courtroom

The legal system influenced the re-design of the DeCotiis Law Moot Courtroom. The shape and location of the space symbolize the centrality of the rule of law and transparency of the law to our country.

Small Moot Courtroom

The John J. Gibbons Moot Courtroom is a simulated courtroom on a smaller scale, used by students for classes, competition preparation, and clinic seminars.

Seminar Classroom

Designed to facilitate sharing and discussion, small classrooms on the ground floor overlooking the courtyard are used for writing and skills classes, upper-level seminars, and clinic coursework. Student organizations also frequently use these rooms for meetings.

Law Clinic

The Center for Social Justice (CSJ) at Seton Hall Law School is one of the nation’s strongest pro bono and clinical programs. The CSJ empowers students to gain critical, hands-on experience by providing pro bono legal services for economically disadvantaged residents in the region.

Law Clinic Workspace

Students spending a semester in the Center for Social Justice work alongside highly-skilled facutly and resident attorneys. The Center for Social Justice trains future lawyers in public interest litigation, transactional legal practice and policy advocacy to produce legal professionals who can effect positive and lasting change.

Law Library Entrance

The Peter W. Rodino Law Library Center for Information and Technology brings together library and information technology professionals, providing a streamlined research experience for our students. The facility is open from 6 a.m. to midnight each day, providing seating and study space for nearly 600 students.

Law Library Reading Room

The Reading Room on the main floor of the law library offers students abundant natural light and spectacular views of the New York City skyline. It is named after Peter W. Rodino, Jr., a congressman from New Jersey who served as chairman of the House Judiciary Committee and oversaw the impeachment process against President Richard Nixon.

Law Library - Main Level

The main floor of the law library provides access to the Learning Center - a space where staff can showcase technology and tools students can use in their legal practice. Professional librarians are also available for one-on-one research consultations. The main floor remains a popular spot, providing the largest amount of group study space.

Law Library - Upper Level

Students looking for a quiet place to study can find it on the upper level of the law library. Part of this level shares a view with the Peter W. Rodino, Jr. Reading Room, and provides a portion of the 21 group study rooms available to students.

Law Library - Lower Level

Seton Hall Law School is home to two student-edited journals featuring critical analyses of today's most pressing legal issues. Journal members may access this private space for writing and editing from the lower level of the law library.

Law Library - Balcony

A unique feature accessible to students from the lower level of the law library is the balcony that opens to the atrium. Students who use the space for group or private study are able to keep a watchful eye on the day's activities.

Lecture Hall

Lecture halls are reserved for larger classes and legal symposia. Here, students are in a criminal law class.

Atrium

The bright and expansive atrium is one of the first things to greet you as you enter the law school building. At six stories tall, the atrium provides an impressive backdrop for daily activities and special events.

Atrium Staircase

From the stairs in the atrium, you can see the most important elements of the law school. Classrooms are located toward the back of the building, with the law library, administrative and faculty offices located toward the front. The ramps provide a scenic connection between both sides.

2nd Floor Seating

A balcony on the second floor provides comfortable seating where students can sit back and study, work, eat, and meet with their peers.

2nd Floor Deck

The deck on the second floor brings together many spaces. Students gather and study at the couches overlooking the atrium, and have the benefit of easy access to the bookstore, student lounge, Student Bar Association office and the cafeteria.

Courtyard

Members of the Seton Hall Law School community gather in the Benjamin and Ruth Schiff Courtyard for portions of various events including alumni reunions, orientation and graduation.

Chapel

All members of the Seton Hall Law community are welcome to visit The Saint Thomas More Chapel for quiet reflection and prayer. The Law School Chaplain's mission is to assist with the growth, rejuvenation, and refreshment of the spirit not only for Catholics but for people of all faiths.

Bookstore

Students can purchase supplies for class, textbooks, electronics, snacks, and Seton Hall Law apparel and accessories at the bookstore.

Admissions

Prospective students looking for the Admissions office can find it on the third floor. The staff here provides group and private tours of the law school and facilitates class visits. Just steps away are the Enrollment and Student Services Offices and the Dean's Suite.

Auditorium

Members of the Seton Hall Law School community gather in the Larson Auditorium for conferences, large meetings, guest speaker presentations, award ceremonies and trainings. New students gather in the auditorium for Orientation.

Cafeteria

The cafeteria in Seton Hall Law is open daily for breakfast and lunch, with extended hours during exams. Students can choose a snack or meal to grab-and-go, make a salad at the fresh salad bar or order from the menu at the grill or sandwich station.

Just blocks from the Law School students can visit The Prudential Center, the Newark Museum, the New Jersey Center for Performing Arts and the Ironbound, giving them quick access to sporting events, concerts, world-renowned works of art and wonderful food. A 20-minute train ride takes students to New York City.
